The Pulitzer Prize Winning Photos were announced this week and with it a debate was sparked about how best to display the controversial winners. The winning shot is Photo-journalism at it's best - and indeed humanity at its worst. The image depicts a young Afghan girl standing in the midst of the after effects of a bomb explosion. She is covered in blood, and around her lay bodies. Whilst the publication of graphic images has been a tough and much debated topic for some time - the very taking of such photos has sparked cynicism and unrest between many. Sometimes it's easy to forget the things around us that were once iconic and useful. In everyday life that could include a multitude of household objects, bits and bobs, clothes, gadgets - all sorts. But in Photography - a specific aspect of Photography - people close doors and board up buildings sometimes with little or no notice. They erect a fence around that old asylum and ship everything out or they install security guards at the boundaries of an army camp. Those places get forgotten and one day there will be nobody left that will remember them. That's where Urban Exploration comes in.

This week I happened across a Photographer who shoots the economy - currently in the UK. If you ever wondered what Economy looks like - and what the recession looks like - in the Photographic sense then wonder no more. Simon Robert's has it captured. What really struck me though, aside from the complete normality and sometimes mundane life that made the photographs, was the comments on the Article that I read about Simon. The BBC Wrote about him yesterday and nearly all the comments were from people advocating boredom. The Irony is that Simon Robert's had, in full colour, photographed our lives. And the general consensus was that it was dull and unimaginative. How very English we are.

Two editions of What Digital Camera appeared today and I'm pretty glad they did because I flicked through and immediately landed on a link for a free online Photography magazine. You can open it up yourself Right Here and I haven't tested but I believe it works in all countries. The reason I'm sharing it is because they have a nifty forum where you can share your own photography with the chance of them picking it to publish either in the online magazine or the 'real' shop versions. What have you got to lose right?

_{It's my first time giving a critique on a journal feature. I decided to do it because you have asked a question in which I'm also interested, how many photos per feature can someone look at?

First of all, I didn't think they were so many photos, I had the impression that they were fewer.

I think it usually depends on the theme of the feature, it may be a feature with three pieces that depict three strong themes or a feature with many pieces that depict one general theme.

However, a lot of pieces will load a little slower than of a normal journal feature, depending on the internet connection of each one of us.

In my opinion, as long as you make the viewers understand the idea of the feature and captivate them, it's good. And you've managed to do that really well, so, congratulations!}
